What We Believe
At New Bethel Baptist Church, our beliefs are rooted firmly in historic Christian faith as taught in the Bible and embraced by Baptist churches throughout history. We are committed to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ, nurturing believers in spiritual growth, and living out our faith in everyday life. Our convictions are grounded in Scripture — the ultimate authority for faith and conduct — and reflect the doctrines affirmed by the Baptist tradition.
Scripture
We believe the Holy Bible, composed of the Old and New Testaments, is the divinely inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It reveals God’s truth, guides our faith and practice, and stands as the final authority in all matters of belief and life.
God
We believe there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons — Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — each equally deserving our worship and obedience. God is Creator, Sustainer, and Ruler of all things.
Jesus Christ
We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, became fully human while remaining fully divine. Born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins, rose bodily from the dead, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father. Through His life, death, and resurrection, salvation is made available to all who trust in Him.
Humankind and Sin
We believe human beings were created in the image of God but, through disobedience, fell into sin. As a result, all people are separated from God and in need of reconciliation that only comes through Christ.
Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ. It is not earned by human effort but is accomplished by the redeeming work of Christ and applied to believers by the Holy Spirit.
The Church
We believe the Church is the community of all true believers, commissioned to worship God, teach His Word, observe the ordinances (such as baptism and the Lord’s Supper), and share the Gospel with the world. We value local fellowship, discipleship, and mission in the name of Christ.
The Future Hope
We believe in the bodily resurrection of the dead, the eternal life of believers with Christ in heaven, and the final judgment of all people. Those who have trusted in Christ will experience everlasting joy with Him, and those who reject Him will face separation from God.
Our Mission & Vision
At New Bethel Baptist Church, our mission is simple — to know Christ and make Him known. We are dedicated to proclaiming the Gospel, growing disciples of Jesus, and serving God with our whole hearts. As a historic Baptist congregation in Framingham, we strive to be a welcoming home where people can encounter God and connect with others.
